Lesson Overview
You will write a persuassive essay telling me who should win the "Best Relative of the Year Award"
Assignment
Imagine that I am offering a prize for the Best Relative of the Year. Think about which one of your relatives should win the prize. This relative could be a parent, grandparent, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, or anyone in your family. Think about how you will persuade the judges to give your relative the prize.
Use the steps below to help organize your essay.
1. clearly state your reason for writing (which relative should win the Best Relative of the year and a brief idea of why). This can be your introductory paragraph
2. Give at least 3 reasons or examples why. Be sure to be detailed with these reasons (each reason can be a separate paragraph) You should support them with specific facts. Your reasons might include what he or she is like or things she/he has done to make him/her the best.
3. For your final paragraph remind me why your relative should win.
