- Friendly Letter format/Letter to Pen Pals
Last year we exchanged friendly letters with pen pals from Mrs. Courneya's 6th grade class in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. We learned some new things about life in Minnesota - Minnesota is the land of 10, 000 lakes because the glaciers have created lakes all over the state! Also, most students have broken at least one bone (because winter sports such as skiing, ice skating, and hockey are very prevalent there!) and there is something called the Polar Ice Plunge ( I think you may have a pretty good guess what this is!)
